The National Weather
Service has issued a floor watch for Essex County from 1:00 pm today through
Tuesday morning. It is estimated the area will receive between 1.5 to 3
inches of rain which may cause roadways to be temporarily flooded.
There is also a wind
advisory for Essex County which may experience sustained winds expected to be
35-45 MPH.
Residents are reminded
to use extra caution if you are traveling in the area during the evening and
overnight hours. Use reduced speeds during times of heavy rain. DO
NOT touch or approach downed power lines. Immediately call 911 and report
the hazard. If you experience a power outage, you can contact National
