Potential Crime leads to Hefty Drug Charges for Lawrence Man
METHUEN- During the early morning hours of Tuesday, March
28, 2017, officers responded to the Days Inn, 159 Pelham Street, Methuen to investigate
a potential crime. As a result of the investigation, Officer Alex Richmond
along with Detective Sergeant Jim Gunter applied for and were granted a search
warrant which resulted in hefty charges on a 33 year old Lawrence
man.
The search warrant was to allow officers to search a
backpack owned by Kewin Gomez, 33, of Lawrence, MA. Inside the backpack
was a passport and social security card belonging to Kewin. Also in the
backpack, located next to the passport and social security card, was a bag
containing four bags of suspected cocaine weighing 440 grams, two bags of
suspected fentanyl weighing 62 grams and one bag of suspected heroin weighing
34 grams.
Kewin Gomez was charged with Major Trafficking a Class B
Substance, Cocaine over 200 grams, Trafficking in Fentanyl and Trafficking in
Heroin.
$3,782.00 in US currency found on Kewin was seized pending
civil forfeiture.
At this time the investigation is ongoing.
