EXTREME WEATHER ON THE WAY
The National Weather Service is forecasting extremely cold weather
across the region beginning Thursday night and lasting into Friday
morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits
to several degrees below zero with wind chills of 10 to 25 below are
forecasted. During this time frame, sustained winds of 25mph are
expected with gusts up to 65mph.
Methuen Residents are advised to use caution during this time frame due to this potentially life threatening wind chill.
Methuen Residents are also urged to protect themselves, family members
and pets from frostbite and hypothermia. Please use caution when using
alternative heat sources due to the possibility of fire and/or carbon
monoxide poisoning.
Extremely cold weather also brings on the
potential for vehicle failures as well as bursting water pipes in homes
and water main breaks in roadways.
