Disturbance Leads to Shots Fired

On Saturday 01/08/11 at approximately 11 pm a 911 call from 110 railroad Street 2nd floor of a report of a fight and shots fired was received. Officers responded and found one spent shell casing. At this time it appears a Hispanic male from Lawrence who is the "ex-boyfriend" of the female that was present arrived at the home. He was upset and went outside with the females, they were joined by a Hispanic male who is described by the females as "Jose". Initial investigation revealed that at some point a fight broke out and one of the males brandished a handgun. One of the females pushed his arm up and the gun discharged into the air. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
